Our Counsellors

Ku SiKia Counsellors paid or voluntary must have completed their Diploma in Counselling and undertaking their Advance Certificate in Counselling.

Ku SiKia Counsellors have to be working towards BACP/ UKCP Accreditation.

All Counsellors are insured with Professional Indemnity.

All Counsellors are CRB checked and this is renewed yearly.

All Counsellors receive and attend regular Counselling Supervision from a Qualified Counselling Supervisor in accordance with BACP.

All Counsellors work to agreed procedures on issues of confidentiality, Safeguarding Children, Adult Protection and young people at risk.

Our Service Users

Every adult and young person requesting Ku SiKia’s services will receive an assessment; this information is subject to Ku SiKia’s confidentiality policy and is kept in a locked safe place.

All individuals attending counselling sessions are asked to sign a ‘Counselling Contract’, which outlines what the counsellor and the young person can expect from each other.

Our Promise

Ku Sikia will put forward training opportunities to enable Counsellors to offer an effective and informed service when working with young people who are disaffected, excluded or displaying high-risk behaviour.

All workers and volunteers receive an induction and induction pack, which contains all policies, procedures and information that will enable them to carry out their duties appropriately at Black Health Initiative.

Ku Sikia will publish an Annual Report, which includes financial accounts, statistics, and feedback from users, agencies and schools who have accessed Ku SiKia’s counselling service.
